Multi-Stage Exhaust Gas Purification for Environmental Compliance

The Wet Flue Gas Filtration System is engineered as a complete end-stage purification module for incinerators, industrial burners, and thermal treatment units. Through a multi-phase gas–liquid scrubbing process, the system effectively removes fine dust, mist droplets, corrosive residues, and temperature-sensitive pollutants before the exhaust is released to atmosphere.
Its design ensures stable, clean, and environmentally compliant emissions, meeting the requirements of regional and international standards.


1. System Application

This filtration system is intended for applications where high-efficiency exhaust gas treatment is essential. It performs advanced purification through an integrated workflow that includes:

  • Extreme cooling spray treatment for rapid temperature reduction
  • Primary and secondary dust removal through gas–liquid collision
  • Mist elimination and droplet separation
  • Final stainless-steel mesh filtration to capture fine residual particles

The combined process ensures the exhaust gas discharged is clean, stable, and compliant with environmental regulations, even under continuous or heavy-duty operating conditions.


2. System Architecture

The complete set consists of two vertical spray towers and a downstream stainless-steel G4 filter, coordinated to form a highly efficient wet scrubbing system.

2.1 First-Stage Spray Tower (Primary Scrubber)

This initial tower is responsible for extreme cooling and coarse-dust removal.
Key functions include:

  • Internal Pall Ring (Raschig Ring) packing that enlarges the contact surface for gas–liquid interaction
  • Direct collision between hot flue gas and high-velocity spray jets
  • Rapid temperature drop, stabilizing the gas stream prior to secondary filtration
  • Initial dust settling, removing large particulate content and ash residues

This tower performs the most energy-intensive portion of the scrubbing process, preparing the gas for enhanced downstream cleaning.


2.2 Second-Stage Spray Tower (Secondary Scrubber)

Designed for high-precision filtration and fine-particle capture, the secondary scrubber provides:

  • Additional gas–liquid interaction via Pall Ring packing
  • Removal of smaller dust particles and micro-mist
  • Stabilization of gas humidity and velocity before fan extraction
  • Delivery of semi-purified gas to the induced draft fan (ID fan)

By the time exhaust exits this tower, dust and particle concentration are significantly reduced, ensuring high filtration efficiency.


2.3 Induced Draft Fan & G4 Stainless-Steel Mesh Filter

After scrubbing, the flue gas enters the final extraction and polishing stages:

Induced Draft Fan (ID Fan)

  • Maintains negative pressure throughout the ducting and scrubbing system
  • Ensures smooth, continuous flue gas flow
  • Prevents backflow and stabilizes combustion chamber pressure

G4 Stainless-Steel Mesh Filter

  • Acts as the final purification layer
  • Captures fine mist droplets, micro-particles, and any remaining debris
  • Delivers a clean, dry, and stable exhaust stream
  • Ensures final emissions reach G4 filtration levels, suitable for regulated discharge

3. Material and Engineering Details

3.1 Pall Ring Packing

The system utilizes high-efficiency Pall Rings mounted on stainless-steel support plates.
Advantages include:

  • Large surface area for enhanced gas–liquid contact
  • High void ratio preventing clogging during long-term operation
  • Excellent corrosion resistance suitable for acidic or alkaline scrubbing liquids
  • Long operational lifespan, requiring only periodic rinsing or cleaning

These features optimize dust capture and temperature control while minimizing maintenance requirements.


3.2 Stainless-Steel G4 Mesh Filter

The terminal filter is made from 304-grade stainless steel, offering:

  • High structural strength
  • Resistance to moisture, chemical corrosion, and high temperatures
  • Long service life with simple cleaning and reusability
  • Stable G4 filtration performance, capturing fine airborne particulates and droplets

The G4 filter ensures final-stage purification with consistent airflow and minimal pressure drop.
